Okay but not great

I bought this harness about two months ago, and was initially excited with the performance. It seemed my dog felt safer and did much less moving around, which was a relief for the driver. Since then my opinion has changed, because as time went on and I used it more, more problems seemed to arise. Firstly, the harness seems especially dependent on your dog having pronounced shoulders. Second, the buckles seem to continually loosen over time, requiring you to constantly check for tightness. Sometimes the weave belts that make up the harness even loosen while driving, which in conjunction with the shoulder dependency result in the harness slipping down the dog's body and off the chest. Several times while driving I have noticed this despite having tightened the harness before driving away from my home. The harness would slip far enough down the dog's chest that I was actually worried that, were I to get in an accident, the harness would actually break my dog's front legs because the neck belt was down to the middle of them.
Furthermore, my dog has a strong tendency to get wrapped up in the harness. She has been able to wrap the seat belt around her neck while moving around in the back seat wearing this harness, resulting in a dangerous and uncomfortable situation for her. The passenger had to lean into the back seat and remove the harness to get her out of her predicament, which is distracting for the driver and dangerous to the passenger. When it has happened while I am alone with her in the car, I had to pull over and take off the harness to unbind her, then put it back on and readjust the tightness again, which had already been done before leaving the house.
Overall, I don't like this particular product. While I was very happy with it when I first got it, my opinion has changed dramatically as I have become more experienced with it. I will be investing in a new, different brand of harness in the near future. The belts on this harness sorely need some way to lock them in place, as this has seemed to be the major malfunction of the harness.

I had one of these harnesses and I really liked it. The small got tight on my like dushound mix so I bought the med. We take the dogs in the car and in a motorhome, they love the security of staying savely on the seat. The only thing that I would change is a seat bely attachment.

I would not recommend this product at all unless you have a seatbelt protector between the harness and the cover. Our seatbelt was cut through from the friction of the harness with the belt early in our trip.
good product

Boomer loves short car trips, but does tend to roam around the car. When I needed to travel several hours for Thanksgiving, and decided to take him instead of leaving him at a kennel, I wasn't sure how well he would travel. I also did not think it would be a good idea, safety-wise, for him to be unrestrained while traveling on the interstate at higher speeds than around-town travel.
This harness did not seem to cause him any discomfort. He always happily hops in the car, and did not fight having the harness put on him, and did not try escape after being harnessed and attached to the seatbelt. He could sit up, or lie down, but did not seem distressed about not being able to hop into the unoccupied front seat.
And while most car trips do not involve a crash, I felt better about him being restrained than loose in the car. I am totally satisfied with this product. I don't take many trips where I'll need it, but was worth the price just for this one trip, and glad to have it for future use.
Great Harness!

I bought the small harness for my 15 lbs dog. It fits her perfectly. If she was any bigger, I would have gotten the medium. The harness is very secure and straps to the seatbelt easily. The harness still has enough slack for her to lay down and sit up. I also like how it restrains her at the chest and not the neck.
