Training Golden Retrievers

Pet dogs are not like humans, as a result they need to learn in some other ways. Dogs do not come with people responses, meaning that they don’t perform with the principle of right or wrong. Rather, they operate with a principle of reaction, led by the actions you give them. If their reactions create a bad response from you, then they know that what they are doing is incorrect and will avoid doing that particular actions.

But if your dog does something correctly, he must be lauded for it. If your Golden Retriever is listening to what you say and doing well, it is best to reward him using a treat or praise. Letting him know that he is doing fine leads to a positive response. On the other hand, if he isn’t responding to you or doing the total opposite of those things you say, you should not reward him at all – but alternatively reprimand him using a stern NO.

While training a Golden Retriever, timing is a very powerful component. If the canine is doing something bad, you should not wait or hesitate to correct him. Doing so would likely deliver the wrong impression. Whenever your Golden is doing something incorrectly, you need to correct him right then and there, so that he’ll understand for sure what he is doing incorrectly.

As an example, if your Golden Retriever is chasing automobiles, you definitely need to halt this practice before it gets it beyond control. The minute you observe him carrying this out, always prohibit him and let him see he’s wrong. This way, he will understand that chasing cars is something he should not be doing. It could take some time for your pet to understand this, so you will need to maintain your ground and still correct him if he is doing something you don’t approve of.

This type of theory is comparable to that relating to praise. If you notice your Golden Retriever doing something correctly, you ought to praise him at once. If you do not praise him immediately but on the other hand postpone until he has stopped, he’ll assume you are praising him for stopping. To be on the safe side and get the best out of your Golden, you should always praise him when he is acting correctly, and correct him when he is behaving in a bad way.

If you take your time and show patience with your Golden Retriever, you shouldn’t experience any difficulties training him. The training procedure may need a lot of time, although it is very much worth it eventually. Once you have trained your Golden Retriever, he will respond to those things you say, and steer clear of doing the actions he may be corrected for. Golden Retriever training is vital for your dog and will make him a lot better dog once he is older.
